The short answer
Book a regular cleaning to keep a home that's already in good shape clean week to week. Book a deep cleaning when the home needs a top-to-bottom reset, including baseboards, trim, and inside appliances.
What each one covers
| Area | Regular cleaning | Deep cleaning |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen and bathrooms | Surfaces, sinks, and fixtures wiped and cleaned | Detailed scrubbing, including buildup and grout lines |
| Dusting | Reachable surfaces throughout the home | Adds baseboards, trim, and commonly missed spots |
| Floors | Vacuuming and mopping | Same, plus corners and edges given extra attention |
| High-touch areas | Wiped as part of the routine | Switches, handles, and door frames detailed |
| Appliances | Outside surfaces | Inside the oven, fridge, or microwave on request |
| How long it takes | Shorter, since the home is kept up | Longer, since it covers more ground in more detail |
The exact scope of any cleaning is confirmed with you before your appointment.
When a deep clean makes sense
- The first cleaning in a home that hasn't been professionally cleaned in a while
- Before starting a recurring regular cleaning, so upkeep starts from a clean baseline
- Seasonal resets, like spring cleaning or before the holidays
- Before or after hosting guests or a big event
- After a renovation, a long illness in the household, or a new pet
When a regular clean is enough
If the home has been cleaned recently and you want it to stay that way, a recurring regular cleaning, weekly, every other week, or monthly, is usually the better fit. It takes less time per visit and keeps buildup from coming back. Apartments follow the same logic, and our apartment cleaning page covers building rules and unit sizes.
